Job Description & Skillset:
We are seeking a hands-on Principal PKI Security Architect to lead the architecture and detailed design of BMW's corporate security infrastructure. This role requires an expert in Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) with a proven track record of architecting, implementing, and managing large-scale, enterprise-grade PKI solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong security mindset and deep expertise in Zero Trust network principles. A critical component of this role is a profound commitment to creating high-quality, meticulous documentation and adhering to rigorous processes. The architect will be responsible for designing a scalable and resilient security framework for our global corporate IT, partner networks, and digital platforms, ensuring robust certificate-based authentication and data encryption.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Lead the detailed design and architectural enhancement of the global enterprise PKI infrastructure, centered on Microsoft AD CS.
- Develop, author, and maintain comprehensive, high-quality documentation including architectural blueprints, detailed design documents, process workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee and execute end-to-end certificate lifecycle management (issuance, renewal, revocation) across complex, multi-cloud and on-premise environments.
- Serve as the hands-on subject matter expert for all enterprise PKI and AD CS-related matters, providing guidance and troubleshooting support to various IT teams.
- Collaborate with security, network, and application teams to securely integrate PKI services and enforce certificate-based authentication protocols.
- Proactively identify and implement automation for PKI operations to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and reduce manual errors.
- Ensure the PKI environment remains secure, compliant with corporate policy and regulatory standards, and prepared for audits.
