About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with a proven track record in building and maintaining enterprise-grade applications, preferably with prior experience working in large-scale retail environments such as Walmart. The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing robust, high-performance, and scalable solutions to support critical business operations in retail and e-commerce.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for retail, supply chain, or e-commerce operations.
- Work on enterprise-level systems handling large data volumes and high transaction rates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.
- Optimize application performance and scalability for high-demand retail environments.
- Implement security best practices for sensitive retail data handling.
- Participate in all stages of the SDLC — from requirement gathering to deployment and support.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Core Java (Java 8/11+) development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot framework.
- Experience in RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
- Proficient in working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Solid understanding of multithreading, collections, and concurrency in Java.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) – AWS preferred.
- Experience working with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience at Walmart or other large-scale retail/e-commerce companies.
- Knowledge of retail business processes — inventory management, order fulfillment, supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- Exposure to DevOps practices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing tools (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).
- Understanding of distributed systems and high availability architectures.
