Job Title: Linux Systems Administrator – Tier 1 / Tier 2
Client: Goldman Sachs (VMO)
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah (Onsite – 5 days per week)
Work Schedule:
- Requires 1 weekend day every week (Saturday or Sunday)
- Possible schedules:
- Tuesday – Saturday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Sunday – Thursday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- After October: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Interview Process: 2–3 rounds (video interview)
Role Overview
As a Linux Administrator, you will provide Tier 1 / Tier 2 support for Business Systems in a 24x7 follow-the-sun enterprise environment. The role involves alert management, OS troubleshooting, incident resolution, automation, and system maintenance to ensure continuous service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Linux/Unix systems and respond to alerts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve OS/system issues.
- Manage incidents and restore service promptly.
- Collaborate with business units to maintain and restore services.
- Automate administrative tasks using scripting and configuration management.
- Work with hardware teams to support server infrastructure.
- Maintain documentation of procedures and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of Unix/Linux Systems Administration experience.
- Strong expertise in Red Hat Linux.
- Solid OS troubleshooting skills.
- Scripting experience: Shell, Bash, Perl, Python.
- Experience with VMware, OpenShift, or virtualization technologies.
- Networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on with enterprise server hardware (Dell, HP, etc.).
- Familiarity with remote management tools (Dell iDRAC, HP iLO, VMware vCenter/vSphere).
- Strong incident management experience.
- Automation-first mindset.
- Prior financial services industry experience (preferred).
- Large-scale enterprise experience (preferred).
- Relevant technical certifications (plus).
