Job Description:
Provide L3 support for SQL Server and other database platforms hosted on-premises and in Azure, including performance tuning, backup/restore, and troubleshooting.
Manage and optimize Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and other Azure data services (e.g., Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL).
Design, implement, and maintain HA/DR solutions using Always On, Geo-replication, and Azure Site Recovery.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Azure CLI to streamline database operations and deployments.
Utilize tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Query Store to proactively monitor and optimize database performance.
Implement and maintain database security best practices, including encryption, auditing, and role-based access control in compliance with organizational policies.
Act as the escalation point for critical database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
Work closely with DevOps, application teams, and architects to support database needs and maintain comprehensive documentation
Stay updated with the latest Azure and database technologies, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
